Fund accountant – hedge fund & private equity

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Fund Accountant with strong expertise in Hedge Fund and Private Equity accounting. The role focuses on accurate NAV (Net Asset Value) calculation, financial reporting, and high-quality investor servicing for alternative investment funds.

Key Responsibilities

Perform end-to-end NAV calculation for Hedge Funds and Private Equity funds Prepare and review financial statements, investor reports, and capital statements Handle fund accounting activities including journal entries, reconciliations, and expense allocations Perform portfolio valuation, including pricing of securities and complex instruments Manage cash and position reconciliations with custodians and prime brokers Support capital calls, distributions, and investor allocations Ensure compliance with GAAP/IFRS and regulatory requirements Coordinate with internal teams, auditors, and external stakeholders Deliver accurate and timely investor servicing support

Required Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or related field 2+ years of experience in Fund Accounting (Hedge Fund / Private Equity preferred) Strong understanding of NAV calculations and fund structures Knowledge of financial instruments, derivatives, and valuations Familiarity with accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS) Proficiency in Excel and fund accounting systems (Advent Geneva, Investran, etc. – desirable) Strong analytical skills with attention to detail Good communication and stakeholder management abilities

Experience required: 2+years

Location: Bangalore | Hyderabad | Gurugram

Notice Period: Immediate to 45 days preferred
