About the Role

YAL is looking for a highly creative, culturally aware and strategically sharp Social Media Manager who understands that social media is more than a publishing channel-it is where a brand develops its personality.

We need someone who can transform everyday cultural moments, trends and conversations into memorable content. You should know what the internet is talking about, understand when a trend is worth joining and create communication that feels timely, original and unmistakably YAL.

This is not a role limited to scheduling posts. You will define how YAL speaks, reacts and remains relevant across digital platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and own YAL's social media strategy across Instagram, LinkedIn, X, YouTube and emerging platforms.
• Create a distinctive, consistent and recognisable voice for YAL and its products.
• Conceptualise culturally relevant campaigns, topical content, memes and platform-native formats.
• Identify emerging trends and translate them into intelligent, timely brand communication.
• Build content calendars while remaining agile enough to respond to real-time conversations.
• Write compelling captions, scripts, campaign concepts and creative briefs.
• Work closely with design, video, product, growth and leadership teams.
• Lead social communication for product launches, partnerships, announcements and company milestones.
• Build meaningful engagement through community conversations and creative responses.
• Track reach, engagement, sentiment, shareability and community growth.
• Use performance insights to continuously improve content and platform strategy.
• Manage creators, agencies and production partners wherever required.
• Establish processes for publishing, approvals, escalation and reputation management.

What are we looking for :

• 4-7 years of experience managing social media for consumer technology, e-commerce, media, entertainment or culturally relevant digital brands.
• A strong portfolio showcasing original campaigns, topical content and measurable audience growth.
• Exceptional copywriting, storytelling and creative conceptualisation skills.
• Deep understanding of Indian internet culture, social behaviour, memes and emerging content formats.
• Ability to balance humour, boldness and experimentation with brand responsibility.
• Strong creative judgement and the confidence to challenge predictable ideas.
• Experience managing fast-moving content calendars and real-time marketing opportunities.
• Working knowledge of social listening, analytics and publishing tools.
• Ability to independently take an idea from cultural insight to final execution.
• Experience building a consumer brand's social identity from an early stage will be highly valued.
