Job Description

The Center for Human Development (CHD) is seeking a Senior Program Director for our Community Outreach team in Connecticut. Through this program, we have subsidized housing models to help residents access community resources, arrange meals, plan social activities, and manage any issues that arise. With a program goal to help foster a sense of stability and community for participants. As a Senior Program Director, you will actively support the mission, purpose, philosophy and values of CHD and maintain a high level of professionalism and commitment to program staff. You will work to develop and manage a quality program designed to integrate clients served into the community. The Supportive Housing Program combines housing with services for older adults and people living with disabilities. The Program Director oversees all facets of programs designed to integrate formerly institutionalized and/or homeless adults in need of service by serving as a liaison to providers and the community. The ideal candidate creates and maintains open, effectual lines of communication and is responsible for the functioning of all supportive housing, and housing related programming in CT. The Senior Program Director provides supervision, training and support to staff members to enhance effectiveness and foster ongoing growth and development. You will work as a liaison to contracting agencies and the community with strong and effective lines of communication.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master's degree in human services-related field from accredited institution (preferred)
  • 3-5 years of management experience in a mental health related program
  • 3 years of supervisory experience
  • Experience with supportive Housing and HUD housing
  • Approved criminal background and driving check
  • Registered & insured vehicle available for work purposes

  • Knowledge of behaviorism and behavioral dynamics
  • Ability to develop and implement program policies and procedures in compliance with state regulations and sound clinical practice
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with the community and other service providers and funding agencies
  • Display effective leadership with the ability to develop, supervise, motivate and train staff
  • Ability to develop, negotiate, and monitor budgets, contracts, and proposals
  • Ensure that self and staff consistently demonstrate client advocacy skills and ability to build effective community and social service agency networks and relationships
  • Confident and assertive leader that is open and direct
  • Support staff and client needs with a sensitivity to issues of human oppression and diversity.
