Virtual Medical Assistant

Location: Khammam, Telangana.

A Medical practice seeking a reliable, organized Virtual Medical Assistant to support our team. We’re looking for someone who communicates clearly, takes initiative, and helps patients receive timely, compassionate care.

Responsibilities

• Answer patient calls and assist with scheduling, appointment confirmations, and follow-ups.
• Process incoming referrals, obtain medical records, and track pending appointments.
• Assist with insurance verification and prior authorizations for medications, testing, and procedures.
• Manage administrative EMR inbox tasks and route clinical questions to the appropriate team member.
• Coordinate with patients, pharmacies, insurance companies, and referring offices.
• Maintain accurate documentation and protect patient confidentiality.

Qualifications

• MBBS, pharmacy, nursing, or an allied health background preferred.
• Strong spoken and written English, with a professional and friendly phone manner.
• Excellent organization, attention to detail, and follow-through.
• Experience supporting a U.S. medical practice, particularly with prior authorizations and referrals, preferred.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and electronic medical records; Athenahealth experience is a plus.
• Availability to work during agreed-upon U.S. Eastern Time business hours in an office set up in Khammam, Telangana.

Compensation: Based on experience, qualifications, and agreed-upon hours.
