Shift: 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM

Experience:

• 2 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 12 months of Medical Surgical - Orthopedic Unit experience.

• 3 months of travel experience is required.

• Experience with Epic is required.

• Trauma Level 2 experience is required.

• ADN completion required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Indiana license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >40 miles from facility to be submitted.

• Flu vaccination required after submission. Declinations not accepted.

• No current placement allowed at Program: SimpliFi Program - Deaconess Health.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: Recent Epic experience required. Strong neuro assessment, log rolling patients, applying assistive devices (back brace, immobilizer), Tele/12-lead EKG interpretation, and PIV insertion. One full year ortho/neuro/trauma experience.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Chest tube/indwelling drain management, drips (heparin, lasix, protonix), epidural management, PEGs/NGs, Buck’s traction, pin site care, On-Q management, CIWA/BH, and wound care including packing and wound vacs.

Unit Details: Trauma, orthopedic (broken hip/femur), and neuro patients including scheduled neck and back cases and spine/rib fractures. Days ratio 1:3-5; nights ratio 1:4-7. Charge nurse takes patients on nights, but rarely on days. May require precepting of students and new-hires.

Shift & Scheduling: Three weekends out of every six week schedule. Every other holiday. Flexible contract hours: 48 per week available upon request.

Floating Requirements: First to float within skillset. Floating may include Deaconess Newburgh (IN) campus (8 miles apart) and potentially Deaconess Henderson (KY - 11 miles). 2 HR notice given for cross-campus float. Mid-shift float within the same campus may occur; cross-campus mid-shift float is unlikely but possible.

14 days maximum time off

1 Charge/Lead/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months

1 Manager reference required from within the last 12 months
