Position SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Senior Storage & Backup Administrator to own the reliability, lifecycle, security, resilience, and continuous improvement of enterprise SAN, NAS, block storage, backup/recovery, monitoring, and infrastructure-service platforms.
This is a highly technical, hands-on infrastructure role requiring deep expertise with Dell Technologies storage and data protection, Cisco SAN/NX-OS, enterprise backup and recovery, VMware, monitoring, automation, and AWS. The ideal candidate brings 10+ years of enterprise infrastructure experience and can independently lead complex storage, recovery, incident, and data-center activities.
What This Person Will Be Working OnOwn enterprise SAN, NAS, block storage, backup/recovery, monitoring, and automation platformsAdminister Dell Technologies platforms such as PowerStore, Isilon/OneFS, Avamar, and Data DomainManage Cisco SAN switching, NX-OS, zoning, provisioning, replication, capacity, and performanceLead backup/recovery validation, recovery testing, incident response, troubleshooting, and RCAPerform hands-on data-center work including rack/stack, cabling, hardware installation/removal, diagnostics, RMA, and decommissioningManage storage upgrades, lifecycle planning, vulnerability remediation, and corrective actionsAdminister infrastructure monitoring and alerting using Icinga, Grafana, or comparable platformsSupport infrastructure automation and scripting using Ansible or similar toolsIntegrate storage and backup platforms with VMware, Windows, Linux, Cisco UCS, Nutanix, AWS, databases, and applicationsCoordinate vendor/MSP support, maintain technical documentation and runbooks, and support Disaster Recovery exercises
Required Skills & Experience10+ years of progressive enterprise infrastructure experience5+ years administering enterprise SAN, NAS, or block-storage platforms5+ years administering enterprise backup and recovery platformsAdvanced experience with Dell Technologies platforms such as PowerStore, Isilon/OneFS, Avamar, or Data DomainAdvanced Cisco SAN switching and NX-OS experienceStrong experience with zoning, provisioning, replication, storage networking, performance, capacity, lifecycle, and recovery validationExperience with infrastructure monitoring tools such as Icinga, Grafana, or comparable platformsExperience with Ansible, scripting, automation, or configuration managementWorking knowledge of VMware vSphere, Windows Server, Linux, Cisco UCS, Nutanix, and AWSExperience with enterprise backup/storage integrationsExperience with ITSM, 24x7 operations, change control, patching, vulnerability remediation, major incidents, and xzbcwsv RCAHands-on data-center infrastructure experienceStrong vendor/MSP coordination and escalation experienceStrong technical documentation and management-level presentation skillsBachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; or Associate degree/military/industry training with equivalent professional experience
