AVP- Wholesale Payments Specialist

Location: Mumbai/ Bangalore/ Pune

Who are we looking for?

• A seasoned Wholesale Payments Specialist with a strong track record of shaping end-to-end solutions -- both functional and technical -- for large corporate and commercial payments transformation programs, including domestic and cross-border payments, cash management, and liquidity functions.
• With the intent to design and deliver innovative solutions in the Wholesale Payments LoB, spanning payment modernization, real-time payments enablement, ISO 20022 migration, and enterprise-scale technology transformation.
• A successful incumbent should have had a high degree of success shaping the solution vision for large, multi-year payments transformation initiatives that impact key business metrics at leading corporate and wholesale banks in the US, Europe, or APAC markets.
• S/he would work closely with our functional and technical teams, engaging subject matter and technical experts to validate every aspect of the solution, ensuring solutions are achievable and represent our best-effort response to the goals and challenges presented by our clients.

What you'll be doing

• Own the overall solution vision -- functional and technical -- for large wholesale payments transformation projects, addressing all goals as set out by our customers.
• Work with technical and functional teams to realize the solution vision, engaging subject matter and technical experts in specific areas such as payment hubs, clearing and settlement, liquidity management, and sanctions/AML screening to validate every aspect of the solution.
• Through personal experience, research and analysis, build a model of the client's problem domain without needing to conduct interviews with customers.
• Create presentations & collateral independently
• Run solutioning workshops with clients, providing thought leadership and guiding all solution team members
• Guide program managers and project managers, helping them establish terms of reference and deliver program goals
• Guide dev teams to create PoCs and pilots to prove, validate or rapidly prototype solutions
• Provide domain support for technology centric projects
• Legacy Modernization & Digital Transformation of payment platforms
• Appropriate responsible and controlled implementation of real-time payments, ISO 20022, distributed ledger and other disruptive technologies
• Data & Analytics Platforms for payments and treasury operations
• Present capabilities and credentials to clients, analysts and advisors.
• You will be responsible to support direct revenue growth in the Wholesale Payments LoB.

Who we're looking for

• At least 10 years of transformation leadership experience, including at least 2 large multi-year projects involving teams of over 50 people across all roles.
• Deep understanding of wholesale / corporate banking payments, especially in the US, Europe, or APAC. Products understood include domestic and cross-border wire transfers, ACH, SWIFT messaging, real-time payments (RTP, FedNow, SEPA Instant), trade finance, cash management, and liquidity/treasury services, along with the operations and departments in the bank that support all of these products.
• Awareness of leading wholesale payments platforms and market infrastructure: Fiserv, FIS, ACI Worldwide, Finastra, Volante, Bottomline, Clearwater; payment rails and networks such as SWIFT, Fedwire, CHIPS, SEPA, and card/ACH networks. Experience with legacy payment engines and gateways would be useful.
• Excellent communication skills are a must -- able to create presentations independently, run solutioning workshops and use collaboration tools like LucidCharts.
• Must be able to use all productivity tools common to projects, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Jira, etc.
