What You’ll Be Doing (position summary):

The Salesforce Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and deploying customized Salesforce solutions using Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and Aura components. The role collaborates with business analysts and stakeholders to gather requirements, develop and maintain integrations, lead code reviews, and ensure solutions comply with CIBC's security, data governance, and regulatory standards. The incumbent provides technical leadership to junior developers and keeps current with Salesforce platform updates and emerging technologies.

How You’ll Succeed (responsibilities):

  • Design, develop, and deploy customized Salesforce solutions using Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and Aura components.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Develop and maintain Salesforce integrations with internal and external systems using REST/SOAP APIs or middleware platforms.
  • Lead and participate in code reviews, ensuring adherence to best practices, coding standards, and security guidelines.
  • Configure and customize Salesforce objects, workflows, validation rules, and flows.
  • Manage Salesforce deployments using CI/CD pipelines, change sets, and tools such as Salesforce DX (SFDX).
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, performance bottlenecks, and system defects.
  • Mentor and guide junior developers, providing technical leadership and knowledge sharing.
  • Ensure solutions comply with CIBC's security, data governance, and regulatory standards.
  • Stay current with Salesforce platform updates, releases, and emerging technologies.

CROSS-FUNCTIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:

  • Collaborates with business analysts, stakeholders, and project managers to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Works closely with internal IT teams and external vendors to ensure seamless integration of Salesforce with other systems.
  • Participates in meetings and discussions to evaluate new tools, techniques, and best practices for Salesforce development.
  • Engages with security, compliance, and data governance teams to ensure adherence to organizational standards.

As a key contributor to the business unit, this job has the authority to recommend changes to business processes in order to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.

JOB DIMENSIONS:

  • Enterprise-wide scope supporting multiple business units and Salesforce platforms.
  • Individual contributor role with technical leadership and mentoring responsibilities for junior developers.
  • Supports multiple projects simultaneously, providing expertise in Salesforce design, development, and integration.
  • Advisory role in adoption of new Salesforce tools, technologies, and methodologies across teams.

Experience: 6-9 years of experience

Who You Are (skills/qualifications):

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or Technical discipline.

Must Have Skills:

  • 6-9 years of hands-on Salesforce development experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Apex, LWC, Aura, Visualforce, SOQL, and SOSL.
  • Experience with Salesforce Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and/or Financial Services Cloud.
  • Solid understanding of Salesforce data model, security model, and governor limits.
  • Experience with REST/SOAP API integrations and third-party system connectivity.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce DX, Git, and CI/CD deployment pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Good to Have:

  • Exposure to Financial Services Cloud (FSC) or banking/financial domain experience.
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools such as Jenkins or Azure DevOps.
  • Experience working with global or distributed teams across time zones.
  • Knowledge of data migration tools and strategies (e.g., Data Loader, Databricks).
