Description of Work Murdoch Developmental Center (MDC) is currently recruiting Registered Nurses for multiple positions on 1st shift. The primary purpose of this position is to provide professional nursing care. This RN provides evaluation, assessment, and assures coordination and implementation of care delivery. This RN acts as charge nurse when assigned, provides clinical services and consultation including medication and treatment administration, MD/Professional contacts, & care planning for health needs. ALL employees of Murdoch Center are designated as ESSENTIAL for adverse weather and emergency events. Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences Recruitment Range: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 *A Sign-on bonus of $10,000 may be offered to the successful applicant(s) of this posting.* Candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they meet the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement. The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)/ Management Preferences are not required. Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred: - Must be licensed to practice as a registered nurse in North Carolina or in a participating Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state. See the North Carolina Board of Nursing (NCBON) website for a list of participating states Successful candidate must be able to pass Healthcare Provider CPR and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) written and physical requirements as a condition of employment. Successful candidate must have a valid Driver License. This Position Is Exempt And Is EXEMPT From Certain Provisions Of The State Human Resources Act (GS 126) This Position Is Designated As Mandatory And Must Report Or Stay Over During Adverse Weather Events. Scheduled work hours: 1st shift, 6:30am – 3:00pm, 5 days/week, with rotating weekends. Schedule adjustments as needed/requested.- 6:30am-3pm (8 hour)
- 6:30am- 5pm (10 hour)
- 6:30 am-7pm (12 hour) 36/48 alternating weeks
- st 6:30am-3pm 10% Weekend Only
- nd 2:30pm-11pm 15% Weekday & 25% Weekend
- rd 10:45pm-6:45am 20% Weekday & 30% Weekend
- The employee has held a position in the North Carolina State government, including the judicial system, or the University of North Carolina system, within the last 12 months (the employee shall remain ineligible for 12 months from the separation date)
- The employee has previously received a sign-on bonus from any State agency
- DHHS has paid any contract placement or recruitment fees.
