The Role

Senior Java Developers with strong expertise in Icon Solutions IPF (Integration Framework) to support the design, development, and modernization of strategic payments platforms. The role involves building scalable, resilient, and high-performance payment processing solutions supporting real-time and batch payment services including Faster Payments, CHAPS, SEPA, SWIFT, and ISO20022 initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain payment applications utilizing the Icon Solutions IPF Framework.
• Develop microservices and integration components using Java, Spring Boot, and IPF.
• Build and enhance payment processing workflows for domestic and international payment systems.
• Deliver solutions aligned with ISO 20022, SWIFT, CHAPS, Faster Payments, and SEPA standards.
• Create reusable APIs and integration services for enterprise payment platforms.
• Collaborate with Solution Architects to define scalable and resilient architecture patterns.
• Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to Barclays engineering standards.
• Troubleshoot production issues and provide Level 3 support for critical applications.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Automate testing and deployment activities within CI/CD pipelines.
• Ensure compliance with security, risk, and regulatory requirements.

Essential skills/knowledge/experience: (Up to 10, Avoid repetition)

Core Technical Skills

• 8+ years of Java development experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with:
• Java 8/11/17
• Spring Boot
• Spring Framework
• REST APIs
• Microservices Architecture
• Maven / Gradle
• Git

Icon Solutions Experience

• Hands-on development experience with Icon Solutions IPF (Icon Payments Framework) .
• Experience configuring and deploying payment services using IPF.
• Understanding of:
• Payment workflow orchestration
• Message transformation
• Routing and validation services
• Payment repair and exception processing
• Settlement and reconciliation processes

Payments Domain Expertise: Strong knowledge of one or more:

• Faster Payments (FPS)
• CHAPS
