Buyer/Purchasing Representative

OVERVIEW:The Buyer/Purchasing Representative is responsible for buying finished goods from manufacturing suppliers for retail sales, negotiating favorable purchase terms, and assessing supplier performance. This role also involves ensuring punctual deliveries and addressing any supply-related problems.

RESPONSIBILITIES:• Collaborating with key suppliers to purchase high-volume SKU's of finished good items.• Managing container-based ordering processes.• Coordinating with internal project teams and fostering robust supplier relations.• Assessing products and suppliers based on essential business criteria.• Creating proposals, obtaining quotes, and negotiating purchase terms and conditions.• Generating and dispatching purchase orders and agreements.• Monitoring and addressing supplier performance issues and concerns.• Scrutinizing and appraising the quality of purchased items and rectifying deficiencies.• Analyzing industry and demand trends, aiding senior management in developing and implementing sourcing strategies.• Generating reports and maintaining accurate inventory and procurement records.• Adhering to company policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.• Performing miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.• Minimum of 3+ years of purchasing of finished goods, preferably in wholesale or retail.• Proficiency in computer skills, including MS Office, web-based applications, and ERP system(s).• Strong written and verbal communication skills.• Effective team member on projects with demonstrated teamwork skills.• Adaptability to new technologies and processes.• Strong problem-solving and solution-oriented mindset.• Proactive and self-initiative. xzbcwsv • Demonstrates ownership for responsibilities.
