Job Description
Job Duties:
- Perform high-quality diagnostic X-ray exams using proper techniques and positioning
- Prepare, position, and assist patients during imaging procedures to ensure comfort and safety
- Operate and maintain radiologic equipment, ensuring functionality, cleanliness, and calibration
- Evaluate images for technical quality and follow department protocols for image storage and documentation
- Accurately document patient information and imaging details in electronic health records (EHR)
- Apply radiation protection techniques in accordance with regulatory standards and company policy
- Adhere to infection control and safety procedures at all times
- Communicate effectively with physicians, radiologists, patients, and other team members
- Maintain compliance with continuing education and licensing requirements
- Assist with scheduling, clerical tasks, and workflow coordination as needed
- Provide hands-on training and mentorship to students during clinical rotations, ensuring competency in imaging procedures, safety protocols, and patient care standards while fostering professionalism, confidence, and skill development.
Education and Experience:
- Associates degree or certificate in Radiologic Technology from an accredited program
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification in Radiography (Required)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Preferred)
- Valid state license as required by applicable law or regulatory agency
- 12 years of experience as an X-ray Technologist (preferred)
- Experience in an outpatient or ambulatory care setting is a plus
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficient knowledge of radiologic imaging procedures, anatomy, and patient positioning techniques
- Skilled in operating radiographic equipment and imaging software (e.g., PACS, RIS, EMR systems)
- Understanding of radiation safety, ALARA principles, and infection control practices
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with patients, staff, and physicians
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail, accuracy in image capturing, and adherence to documentation protocols
- Professional demeanor, strong work ethic, and commitment to patient confidentiality
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively under minimal supervision
