NForceOne · Remote, United States
Job Description
Position Summary
NForce One is seeking an experienced Senior Pega QA Automation Engineer / QA Lead to support a critical, high-visibility enterprise application.
The selected candidate will initially work as a hands-on QA engineer, taking direct responsibility for functional testing, automation, integration
validation, performance testing, defect investigation, and release readiness. Based on demonstrated performance, ownership, and collaboration, the
individual will progressively assume broader QA leadership responsibilities.
This role requires someone who can independently understand complex business workflows, communicate effectively with technical and business
stakeholders, and take ownership of quality without waiting for detailed day-to-day direction.
Key Responsibilities
Perform hands-on testing of Pega applications, including:
Case types, stages, and case lifecycles
Workflows, assignments, and alternate paths
Business rules and decision logic
Role-based access and security
User interface behavior and validations
Data handling and exception scenarios
Notifications, SLAs, and escalations
Develop and execute functional, integration, regression, API, database, end-to-end, performance, and production sanity tests.
Design and maintain reusable automation using Selenium, Playwright, Java, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
Review the existing automation framework and identify:
Coverage gaps
Framework vulnerabilities
Unstable or flaky tests
Maintenance challenges
Opportunities to improve execution reliability
Define and implement risk-based automation and regression coverage.
Perform API testing using REST Assured, Postman, Newman, or comparable tools.
Validate data and integrations using SQL and database queries.
Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines and establish appropriate quality gates.
Participate in test planning, requirements analysis, traceability, execution, and release readiness assessments.
Lead defect triage, root cause analysis, fix verification, and regression impact assessment.
Coordinate UAT activities and communicate testing status, risks, dependencies, and recommendations.
Collaborate closely with product owners, developers, architects, DevOps, operations, and business stakeholders.
Mentor QA engineers and progressively assume responsibility for the overall QA strategy and delivery model.
Represent QA confidently in discussions involving senior managers and executive stakeholders.
Ensure QA is not a bottleneck by proactively identifying dependencies, risks, environment issues, and test data needs.
Performance and Load Testing Responsibilities
Develop performance test strategies based on business-critical workflows, production usage patterns, and nonfunctional requirements.
Create realistic workload models covering:
Concurrent users
Transaction volumes
Ramp-up and ramp-down patterns
Peak-load periods
Sustained business activity
Design and execute:
Load testing
Stress testing
Endurance or soak testing
Spike testing
Scalability testing
Baseline and capacity testing
Develop and maintain performance scripts using Apache JMeter and, preferably, LoadRunner.
Configure parameterization, correlation, test data management, pacing, think time, and dynamic session handling.
Monitor and analyze:
Response times and percentiles
Throughput and transaction rates
Concurrent user behavior
Error rates and timeouts
CPU and memory utilization
Database performanceMiddleware and API latency
Application and infrastructure bottlenecks
Compare performance results against SLAs, baselines, and expected production behavior.
Work with development, architecture, database, infrastructure, and DevOps teams to identify root causes and recommend improvements.
Prepare clear performance reports explaining observations, bottlenecks, risks, and optimization recommendations.
Validate performance improvements through controlled retesting.
Integrate performance tests into CI/CD or scheduled test execution pipelines where appropriate.
Mentor QA team members on performance testing practices, tools, and result analysis.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of overall software quality engineering experience.
Strong hands-on experience testing enterprise Pega applications.
Strong understanding of Pega case management, workflows, business rules, roles, integrations, and exception handling.
Demonstrated experience with UI, API, database, integration, and end-to-end testing.
Strong automation experience using:
Selenium WebDriver with Java
Playwright with JavaScript or TypeScript
TestNG, Cucumber BDD, or comparable frameworks
Page Object Model and reusable framework design
Strong API testing experience using REST Assured, Postman, and Newman.
Strong SQL and backend data validation skills.
Experience reviewing and improving existing automation frameworks.
Experience integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines.
Working knowledge of performance testing principles, workload modeling, and bottleneck analysis.
Strong understanding of test strategy, RTM, defect management, release readiness, and risk-based testing.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to explain technical concepts clearly using practical project examples.
Strong ownership, prioritization, troubleshooting, and stakeholder management capabilities.
Experience working with distributed onshore and offshore teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong hands-on experience with Apache JMeter and LoadRunner.
Experience creating and executing enterprise-scale load and performance tests.
Experience analyzing application, API, database, and infrastructure performance.
Experience with monitoring or observability tools such as Grafana, Splunk, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, or comparable platforms.
Pega certification.
Previous experience as a QA Lead or Test Lead.
Experience leading QA for highly visible or business-critical enterprise programs.
Experience with security and accessibility testing.
Experience working directly with architects, senior developers, and executive stakeholders.
Familiarity with AI-assisted testing and modern quality engineering practices.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is not limited to managing test cases or reporting defects. We are looking for someone who can understand the business
problem, evaluate the complete workflow, identify quality and performance risks, recommend practical solutions, and remain hands-on in
implementing those recommendations.
The candidate must be able to clearly explain:
What problem they personally solved
How they analyzed the situation
What solution they implemented
Which technologies they used
How they identified performance or scalability risks
What measurable business or delivery benefit was achieved
