Junior AVEVA PI Administrator

We are seeking a Junior AVEVA PI Administrator to support and enhance the PI Data Historian infrastructure for Electric and Gas Control Center operations. This role supports the administration, integration, maintenance, and continuous improvement of a large-scale enterprise PI environment used by critical operational systems.

The ideal candidate will have experience with AVEVA/OSIsoft PI System technologies, operational technology integrations, high-availability infrastructure, and enterprise analytics solutions. This position requires a strong technical foundation, effective troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently in a highly available 24x7 operational environment.

Work Environment: Hybrid schedule requiring 3 days per week in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday , with remote work on Monday and Friday.

Junior AVEVA PI Administrator Responsibilities
  • Create, modify, and maintain an enterprise PI System containing 1.5 million or more PI tags.

  • Support PI Data Archive high availability and disaster recovery.

  • Support PI Asset Framework high availability and disaster recovery.

  • Support PI Vision high availability and disaster recovery.

  • Create and maintain PI AF element templates and AF elements.

  • Develop PI-based dashboards using PI Vision and ProcessBook.

  • Support PI AF Analytics, PI Notifications, and PI Event Frames.

  • Configure and maintain PI interfaces, including:

    • PI API

    • OPC DA/UA

    • RDBMS

    • PI-to-PI

    • PI DNP3

  • Support PI Integrator for Business Analytics.

  • Design, develop, and commission PI dashboards, business intelligence reports, and custom applications using AVEVA/OSIsoft PI System technologies, including:

    • PI SDK

    • AF SDK

    • PI OLEDB

    • PowerShell

  • Help ensure the high availability of PI infrastructure supporting enterprise systems.

  • Troubleshoot infrastructure issues, identify root causes, and maintain a strong focus on physical and cybersecurity.

  • Integrate enterprise business systems with AVEVA/OSIsoft PI software.

  • Support the maintenance, architecture, and development of PI Data Historian infrastructure for Distribution Electric, Gas, and Steam Control Centers.

  • Perform configuration, coding, and testing related to the PI Data Historian.

  • Assist with the technical aspects of assigned projects, including planning and resolving application issues.

  • Respond to system alerts on a scheduled 24x7x365 basis to resolve issues and maintain application availability.

  • Design and develop code for Control Center applications as required.

  • Help maintain the continuous availability of the OSI PI Historian by implementing system enhancements, monitoring server status, and responding to alerts.

  • Review and update procedures and disaster recovery documentation related to the PI Historian infrastructure and associated systems, including OMS and SCADA.

  • Follow ITIL processes and use support tools such as ServiceNow.

  • Communicate effectively with sponsors, stakeholders, and team members.

  • Report on project status, issues, key activities, and project changes.

  • Identify and communicate resource conflicts.

  • Perform other related tasks and assignments as required.

  • Experience troubleshooting technical and application issues.

  • Ability to learn quickly and work independently.

  • Ability to manage assigned projects with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to produce detailed end-to-end technical documentation.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to develop and deliver effective presentations.

  • PI System Infrastructure or Developer Accreditation from AVEVA/OSIsoft is preferred.
