Together We Grow – One Mission, One Team – With a Commitment to Serve Subsidiary: T&H Services Job Title: Appliance Mechanic Work Location: Fort Carson, CO Labor Category: Non-Exempt | CBA Clearance Level: Public Trust Travel: Up to 25% Pay Rate: $30.71/hr Health and Welfare: $8.92-$11.73/hr up to 40 hours per week to be used towards benefit premiums. About the Role This position performs general electrical maintenance and repairs on building equipment. The position requires practical skill and knowledge (but not proficiency) in Electrical and HVAC Trade. What You'll Be Doing Replacing and repairing wires, switches, fixtures, motors, pumps, boilers, and other duties while assisting HVAC Technicians with daily duties. Employees will be required to work on top of buildings, in mechanical rooms, in crawl spaces, etc. to do routine maintenance. Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations. Performs other duties as assigned. What We're Looking For Prefer an individual with a minimum of two (2) years related experience and/or formal vocational/technical training in Electrical and/or utility trades. Each complete year of accredited college education in a related field may be substituted for the equivalent number of years of required experience. Must be able to successfully complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (Tier 1) background check. Must be able to maintain ability to access government worksite. Must be able to work alternate and extended shift schedules when necessary to meet the customer's mission requirements, including weekends and holidays. Must be able to perform on-call duties when necessary and report to work within the required timeframe from notification. Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license and a safe driving record, in accordance with company policy, to operate vehicles or equipment as required for the position. Physical Demands & Work Environment This requires but is not limited to carrying ladders, utilizing hand tools such as multi-meters, being in small spaces over periods of time, and being able to work at all heights. Depending on the location and source of the problems they have to deal with, May be required to work not only indoors but outdoors as well as and in extreme conditions, confined spaces and at excessive heights. Work is performed both indoors and outdoors environments. Some work is performed with exposure to low to loud noise level; frequent fieldwork is required with exposure to a variety of weather conditions and the external environment; tasks may require working in tightly enclosed spaces and the use of ladders or other safety equipment to gain access to hard-to-reach locations; some work is performed in crawl spaces, attics or on rooftops. Some work may require exposure to dust, particulates, unpleasant and potentially hazardous substances and high voltage. Duties require on a continuous basis to sit, stand, bend, climb ladders, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and twist for varying periods in the course of work; use hands and fingers to grasp tools; make repetitive hand and body motions; twist and reach below and above shoulder; lift or carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds; to communicate with co-workers using a two-way radio; use telephone, and write or use a keyboard to communicate through written means; see in the normal vision range with or without correction to read computer screen, blueprints, and drafting plans; hear in the normal range with or without correction.
