ASSOCIATE CONSULTANT – IMS-QEHS & FSSC 22000

Position: Associate Consultant – IMS-QEHS & FSSC 22000

Department: Consulting & Advisory Services

Location: Hyderabad / Client Locations / PAN India

Employment Type: Full-Time / Consultant / Contract

Reporting To: Senior Consultant / Practice Head

1. Role Purpose

The Associate Consultant will support the planning, implementation, documentation, training, auditing, and certification-readiness activities for IMS-QEHS and Food Safety Management Systems, primarily covering:

• ISO 9001 – Quality Management
• ISO 14001 – Environmental Management
• ISO 45001 – Occupational Health & Safety
• FSSC 22000 / ISO 22000 – Food Safety Management
• HACCP and related food safety requirements

The role involves working closely with client teams to develop practical systems and ensure effective implementation at the workplace.

2. Key Responsibilities

Consulting & Implementation

• Support gap assessments against applicable ISO/FSSC requirements.
• Assist in preparation and implementation of policies, procedures, SOPs, formats, and records.
• Support process mapping, risk assessment, aspect-impact assessment, HIRA, HACCP, and operational controls.
• Assist senior consultants in client implementation activities.

Training

• Conduct or support awareness and implementation training.
• Assist in delivering sessions on ISO, 5S, risk management, HACCP, food safety, safety, and environmental practices.

Auditing & Compliance

• Participate in internal audits and compliance audits.
• Prepare audit checklists, audit reports, NCRs, observations, and corrective action follow-up.
• Support clients in closing audit findings and preparing for certification audits.

Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare project reports, meeting minutes, action trackers, and implementation status reports.
• Maintain project documentation and client records.
• Ensure timely completion of assigned deliverables.

Client Coordination

• Coordinate with client departments such as Quality, Production, HR, Maintenance, Stores, EHS, and Food Safety.
• Participate in client meetings and follow up on agreed actions.
• Escalate project issues and delays to the Senior Consultant.

3. Key Competencies

• Basic understanding of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
• Knowledge of ISO 22000 / FSSC 22000 and HACCP is preferred.
• Good documentation and report-writing skills.
• Good communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to understand client processes and identify gaps.
• Basic knowledge of risk assessment and compliance requirements.
• Good MS Word and Excel skills.
• Willingness to travel to client locations.
• Ability to work independently as well as with a consulting team.

4. Qualification & Experience

Education:

• Graduate / Postgraduate in Engineering, Science, Food Technology, Life Sciences, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.

Experience:

• 1–3 years of experience in ISO/QMS/EHS/Food Safety implementation, auditing, quality, EHS, food safety, or related consulting activities.
• Freshers with relevant ISO/FSSC training and strong interest in consulting may also be considered.

Preferred Certifications:

• ISO 9001 Internal Auditor / Lead Auditor
• ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 training
• ISO 22000 / FSSC 22000 training
• HACCP training
• NEBOSH / IOSH or other relevant EHS qualifications will be an advantage.

5. Performance Expectations

The Associate Consultant is expected to:

• Complete assigned consulting activities within agreed timelines.
• Maintain quality and accuracy of documentation.
• Demonstrate professional behaviour at client locations.
• Support successful implementation and closure of client action points.
• Develop practical knowledge across IMS-QEHS and Food Safety.
• Gradually take independent responsibility for assigned project activities.
