Mechanical Project Manager (Owner's Site Representative)

Location: Charlotte, NC (on site) · Type: Full-time

On behalf of a data center developer, we are hiring a Mechanical Project Manager to represent the owner on site at a large-scale hyperscale data center campus in Charlotte. You own the mechanical scope from the owner's side and are the link between the developer, the general contractor, the mechanical subcontractors and the hyperscale tenant.

What you will do

· Represent the owner on site for all mechanical scope, including cooling plant, chilled water, HVAC, piping and controls.

· Act as the day-to-day link between the developer, general contractor and mechanical subcontractors.

· Lead mechanical discussions with the hyperscale tenant and make sure their requirements are reflected in the work.

· Review and manage mechanical RFIs and submittals, coordinating with the design team as needed.

· Track mechanical progress, quality and installation against the schedule; flag risks early.

· Review mechanical change orders and scope gaps, and advise the owner on cost and schedule impact.

· Support mechanical startup, commissioning and turnover.

What you bring

· Background in mechanical construction on large commercial, industrial or mission-critical projects.

· Background from a general contractor, owner's rep firm or mechanical subcontractor.

· Engineering or construction management degree, or a trade background with a proven move into project management.

· Strong superintendents with deep mechanical experience will be considered.

· Data center or mission-critical experience strongly preferred.

· Confident handling tenant and stakeholder conversations, and holding contractors accountable to scope.
