UW Medical Center-Montlake has an outstanding opportunity for a Registered Nurse for our Pre Anesthesia / Pre Surgery Department .

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTIONOur Pre-Anesthesia Clinic RNs provide a complete assessment of the patient and address medical issues to reduce the risk of complications of anesthesia during surgery. Pre-op teaching is also part of the patient visit. The Pre-Anesthesia Clinic will complete assessments for 60+ patients/day which is done as a clinic visit, phone interview or a chart review. Nurses receive in depth specialty training to perform a complete pre-anesthesia evaluation

Assessment and nursing diagnosis of patients
Care planning
Patient teaching
Discharge and transfer planning
Admission, discharge and transfer processes
REQUIREMENTS2 years current recent Critical Care experience, Emergency or PACU Phase I and/or Phase II
PACU experience preferred.
Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.
Active Washington State RN License or applicable Multistate RN license
