Senior Cost Accountant

ROLE PURPOSE/ POSITION SUMMARY

Provide support to the business operations team on cost drivers of the business. Oversee and analyze cost expenditures and purchases.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan, study, and collect data to determine costs of business activities such as inventory, raw material purchases, labor, and overhead.PPV (Purchase Price Variance) analysis and reporting.Margin analysis on material revenue vs material costs, including yield/scrap loss analysis.Assist in month-end close of the general ledger, including preparing and posting journal entries.General ledger account reconciliations.Reconcile inventories and analyze periodic changes to balances.Assist with external and internal audits.Continuous improvement of cost accounting functions and processes.Various ad hoc reporting and analysis.Other duties which may be assigned by your manager
QUALIFICATIONS/ CAPABILITY PROFILE
Minimum EducationBachelor's degree in AccountingMinimum ExperienceMinimum of 5-7 years of cost accounting or financial analysisExperience in a manufacturing environment, CPG a plusMinimum Knowledge/ Skills/ AbilitiesExcellent analytical skills and sound understanding of accounting principlesHigh proficiency in Excel, including v-lookups and pivot tablesERP system experience, prior usage of Microsoft D365 a plusExperience with Nulogy WMS/MRP software a plusExperience developing and analyzing standards costsAbility to effectively communicate results and issues to various audiencesAbility to function in a fast-paced, collaborative environmentNaturally inquisitive and proactive mentality
