The Software Engineer – Database Automation & AI is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing automation solutions and AI-driven capabilities that improve the efficiency, reliability, and scalability of enterprise database platforms. This role combines software engineering expertise with database technologies and modern AI capabilities to automate operational processes, enhance developer productivity, and accelerate cloud transformation.
What You'll Do:
Design, develop, and maintain automation solutions supporting enterprise database platforms.
Build software solutions to automate database provisioning, patching, configuration management, upgrades, backups, validation, and operational workflows.
Develop AI-enabled automation using Large Language Models (LLMs), Generative AI, intelligent agents, and copilots.
Build RESTful APIs, microservices, and self-service automation services.
Develop automation using Python, Power Shell, Bash, or similar scripting languages.
Integrate automation with Git Hub Actions, Azure Dev Ops, Jenkins, or Git Lab CI/CD pipelines.
Develop Infrastructure as Code (Ia C) using Terraform, Ansible, ARM Templates, Bicep, or Cloud Formation.
Develop integrations with AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform services.
Collaborate with Database Engineers to automate High Availability, Disaster Recovery, monitoring, backups, performance tuning, and lifecycle management.
Implement AI-powered operational capabilities including anomaly detection, intelligent alerting, automated incident response, predictive analytics, and root cause analysis.
Integrate with observability platforms including Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, Dynatrace, and Open Telemetry.
Write clean, maintainable, secure, scalable code and participate in code reviews, testing, and production support.
What You'll Bring:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
4+ years of software engineering, automation engineering, platform engineering, or Dev Ops experience.
Strong programming experience in Python.
Experience with Power Shell, Bash, or Shell scripting.
Experience developing REST APIs and microservices.
Knowledge of Oracle, SQL Server, Mongo DB, Redis, Postgre SQL, and My SQL.
Experience building database or infrastructure automation.
Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
Experience using Git, Git Hub, Azure Dev Ops, or Git Lab.
Experience with Terraform, Ansible, Cloud Formation, or Bicep.
Working knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and Dev Ops practices.
Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with Azure Open AI, Open AI APIs, Amazon Bedrock, Google Vertex AI, or Anthropic Claude.
Experience with Lang Chain, Semantic Kernel, AI Agents, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), or Model Context Protocol (MCP).
Experience developing enterprise database automation frameworks.
Experience with Service Now integration and ITSM automation.
