Remote Prior Authorization Representative

$26–$28/hr | Fully Remote | Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM EST

Medix is hiring 3 Prior Authorization Representatives to support Thesis Care and its outpatient specialty practices.

This is a hands-on authorization role for someone who already understands the process and is comfortable working in a fast-moving environment.

The team supports prior authorization workflows across a variety of outpatient specialties, including gastroenterology, endocrinology, behavioral health, neurology, telehealth, cardiology, imaging, specialty medications, and other specialty services .

What You’ll Be Doing

• Review physician orders and medical documentation
• Submit prior authorization requests for specialty procedures, services, imaging, and medications
• Work with commercial and government insurance plans
• Follow up with payers on pending authorizations
• Resolve authorization issues and documentation gaps
• Track cases through completion
• Document all authorization activity accurately
• Work with internal clinical and operations teams when questions or escalations come up

The team’s long-term goal is approximately 40 cases per day , with productivity ramping after training.

What We Need

• 3+ years of prior authorization experience
• Strong commercial insurance experience
• Medicare/Medicaid experience is a plus
• Experience with outpatient specialty authorizations
• Comfortable working directly with payers
• Strong computer skills
• Able to manage a high-volume queue and stay organized
• Comfortable working independently and asking questions when needed

eClinicalWorks experience is preferred.

What to Expect

Training is expected to be about one week , followed by a fairly quick transition into the actual workload.

Thesis moves quickly. You’ll have support, but the expectation is to ask questions, learn the workflow, apply feedback, and become more independent as you get comfortable.

Position Details

Pay: $26–$28/hour

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM EST

Location: Fully remote

Contract: Initial 3-month W-2 contract through Medix

Payroll: Weekly

Benefits: Eligibility after 30 days
