What will you be doing:
The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for working under the direct supervision of their Supervising Physician, the NP shall provide pre-op and post-op assessments of patients, provide and/or assist in follow-up care, and, in the Operating Room.
Supervise care for the patients in the Cardiac Surgery ICU ranging from CABG and valve replacement/repairs to implantable VADs, Heart and Lung transplants, ECMO, aortic dissections, and aneurysm repairs
Perform bedside procedures within the scope of service, write progress notes, participate in daily rounds, write orders, dictate discharge notes, and participate in hospital wide quality improvement initiatives
Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to ensure continuity of care.
QualificationsEducation:
- Master of Nursing Degree.
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse practitioner program approved by the California Board of Registered.
Experience:
- Minimum of two years of Nurse Practitioner (NP) experience in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU), preferably in a surgical, trauma, or transplant setting preferred.
- Experience with critically ill trauma and solid organ transplant patients is highly desirable.
Licensure/Certifications Requirements:
- Current CA RN License.
- Nurse Practitioner and Furnishing License.
- NPI
- Current DEA License (schedule 2-5)
- Current ACLS required.
Education:
- Master of Nursing Degree.
