Job Description:

We are seeking a Storage and Backup Engineer with 4+ years of experience in the Storage and Backup domain to join our dynamic team at DXC Technology. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining our enterprise storage and backup infrastructure, ensuring seamless performance, high availability, and data integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

Storage Administration: Manage, design, and implement storage solutions across multiple platforms (EMC VMAX3, PMAX, 3 PAR, Pure storage arrays). Perform daily monitoring, troubleshooting, provisioning, and performance analysis of storage environments. Strong administration knowledge in storage replications, SYMCLI, and storage performance tuning. Backup Administration: Manage enterprise-wide Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM) infrastructure, including installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Ensure efficient backups using Data Domain storage and virtual tape libraries, and ensure business continuity through Disaster Recovery (DR) planning and testing. Handle capacity and performance of the backup infrastructure, ensuring data integrity and compliance with internal standards. Incident Management and Problem Solving: Identify and resolve hardware and software issues, ensuring timely root cause analysis (RCA) and preventive measures. Interface with hardware vendors for hardware support and case resolution. Handle incident and problem management with adherence to ITIL processes and Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Change Management: Participate in change management processes to implement solutions and upgrades with zero downtime or impact on production environments. Manage system upgrades, patch management, and apply software support packs as needed. Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Planning (DR/BCP): Contribute to the design, planning, and testing of disaster recovery processes for storage and backup systems. Monitor and maintain off-site tape rotations and inventory in compliance with the DR program. System Administration: Administer RHEL/AIX systems, IBM storage, and Data Domain Virtual Tape Libraries. Perform fine-tuning and troubleshooting to optimize TSM environment performance. Documentation and Reporting: Create and update documentation for storage and backup processes, procedures, and standards. Generate and analyze operational reports for TSM servers and produce RCA documents for complex issues.
