Warehouse/Back-up Driver

Warehouse DriverThe Warehouse Driver is responsible for transporting goods and materials within a warehouse or distribution center. Their primary role is to safely and efficiently move products from one location to another using various types of vehicles, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or trucks. Position responsibilities may include:Warehouse:Safely and efficiently operate forklift and additional warehouse equipment to load/unload/transfer material and product without causing damage within the warehouse and to/from delivery trucksEnsure all items are received per procedure and stocked in assigned locationsMaintain inventory and prepare cycle countsComplete will callsResponsible for timely and accurate completion of paperwork and transaction entriesProper PPE and uniform must be worn at all times during each shiftMaintain warehouse and forklift by following good housekeeping and safety procedures including pre and post shift forklift inspections. Alert manager of any concerns immediatelyAssist customers and CSRs as neededFollow standard operating procedures, established work processes and Company policiesPerform additional tasks as requiredDriver:Load, unload and deliver product to customer sites within designated time frames safely using the most efficient routes as possibleMaintain required logs and reports necessary to maintain compliance with DOT and Company policies relating to safety standards and operation of delivery vehicles, forklifts etc.Safely load and properly block, brace, and secure the cargoStrong knowledge of driving/traffic and transportation laws, regulations and ensure continuous compliance while operating the truck(s)Perform pre-check and post-check operations of Company vehicles and forklifts per required proceduresPerform warehouse duties and ensure accurate product and quantity of product is being loaded / transferred for customersNotify the manager immediately of any accidents, damage, violations and areas of concerns to implement corrective measures and/or actionsPerform additional tasks as requiredNature & Scope:Works within well-defined instructionsUses established procedures and works under supervision to perform assigned tasksWork is closely supervisedKnowledge & Skills:Effective verbal and written communication skillsHigh level of attention to detail and surroundingsBasic Computer skills including data entry to process transactions and generate reports and ordersAbility to successfully process (ex. Loading and Unloading) productsAbility to operate a forklift safely and work in a fast-paced warehouseAbility to pass Prove It and driving testMust be eligible to be forklift certified in house within 30 daysBe dependable, work well in a team environment, and establish positive working relationships with employees and customersAbility to work in warehouse that is not climate controlledSafely operate various company trucks, vans, flat beds and/or trailers to deliver product to customer sites within designated time frames safely using the most efficient routes as possibleStrong knowledge of driving/traffic and transportation laws, regulations and ensure continuous compliance while operating the truck(s)Operate forklift safely and efficiently to transfer, load, unload product – ensure accurate product and quantity of product is being loaded into customerPerform pre-check and post-check operations of Company vehicles and forklifts per required proceduresFollow good housekeeping and safety practicesExcellent driving recordEffective verbal and written communication skillsExcellent customer service skillsAbility to proficiently use MS Office including Outlook & Excel, Mincron and a scannerKnowledge of shipping/receiving policiesExperience:2 plus years of warehouse experience a plusPrevious training on operating forklifts and delivery trucks is highly preferredEducation/Certification:High School diploma or GEDMust have Valid driver's licensePeople Management: NoPhysical Requirements / Work Environment:Must be able to perform essential responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodationsReports To: Warehouse ManagerPay: $19.00 to 23.00 hourlyQualified Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States.
