Helion is hiring a Level 2 Process Controls Engineer in Apple Grove, WV.

$90-110/hour, depending on experience

Monday–Friday, 7 AM–4 PM

Build and support the software, data, and systems that connect plant operations to process performance at a major new steel manufacturing facility.

This role combines industrial software development, system integration, and process improvement—from commissioning infrastructure to improving production quality and reliability.

What you’ll do:

• Support startup of Level 2 applications, servers, operator interfaces, and industrial networks.

• Troubleshoot communication between PLCs, applications, and databases.

• Develop, modify, and maintain C# applications and SQL databases.

• Investigate data integrity issues affecting production and process models.

• Support physics-based setup models and validate their inputs and performance.

• Partner with operators, metallurgists, and Level 1 engineers to improve quality, throughput, and reliability.

What we’re looking for:

• Industrial automation or manufacturing systems experience.

• Practical C# programming and SQL/database troubleshooting skills.

• Experience supporting servers, virtual machines, and industrial communications.

• Understanding of process modeling and the effect of bad data on model performance.

• A relevant four-year degree or equivalent substantial experience.

• Willingness to learn the manufacturing process and work directly with the plant team.

Experience with Windows Server, VMware, TCP/IP, Profinet, and steel or metals manufacturing is especially relevant.
