Product Manager

A global specialty P&C insurance organization is seeking a North America Underwriting Product Manager to lead the continued evolution and scaling of technology capabilities supporting commercial underwriting.

This individual will partner closely with underwriting and technology leaders to improve risk selection, operational efficiency, specialty-product enablement, and the overall underwriting experience. The role will take ownership of an existing underwriting product, move it into its next stage of adoption and scale, and establish a future-state roadmap incorporating data, automation, and AI.
This is not a generic technology-product position. The successful candidate must understand how commercial and specialty underwriting works and be able to translate that knowledge into effective platform and workflow capabilities.
Responsibilities:
Own the strategy and roadmap for North American underwriting technologyScale and enhance an existing underwriting product across a significant book of businessPartner directly with underwriters to understand workflows, risk appetite, and product requirementsTranslate underwriting needs into scalable product features and platform enhancementsServe as the connection point between underwriting and core technology teamsModernize underwriting workstation and digital-platform capabilitiesImprove workflows across the submission-to-bind lifecycleEnable specialty P&C products through technologyPrioritize enhancements based on business value, user experience, scalability, and delivery feasibilityIncorporate data-driven, automated, and AI-enabled capabilities into the future roadmapCoordinate delivery across underwriting, engineering, architecture, data, risk, and compliance stakeholdersLead adoption and change-management activitiesMonitor user feedback, adoption, operational performance, and business outcomesEnsure current product decisions support future lines of business and capabilities
Role Requirements:
Extensive experience within P&C insurance, underwriting technology, or insurance product managementStrong understanding of North American commercial underwritingExperience supporting specialty-insurance productsStrong knowledge of underwriting risk appetite and decision-makingDirect experience with underwriting workstations, digital underwriting systems, or related platformsStrong understanding of the complete submission-to-bind lifecycleProduct strategy, roadmap, backlog, and prioritization experienceExperience leading technology-enabled underwriting transformationDemonstrated success scaling or materially xzbcwsv enhancing an existing productAbility to translate underwriting requirements into technology capabilitiesExperience partnering with underwriting leaders and technology-delivery teamsStrong stakeholder-management and presentation skillsAbility to balance immediate business needs with long-term scalabilityAbility to work onsite in New York or New Jersey four days per weekWillingness to travel as needed
