Salary: $185,000 - 225,000 per year Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline; equivalent professional experience may be considered.
• 10+ years of progressive software development experience, including substantial enterprise application design and development.
• 5+ years of software engineering leadership or management experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to lead software developers and oversee multiple development initiatives at once.
• Strong knowledge of modern software architecture, application development, APIs, databases, integrations, and cloud technologies.
• Experience with relational databases and SQL.
• Full-stack C#/.NET development experience preferred.
• Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle, Agile methods, source control, testing, and release management.
• DevOps and CI/CD experience preferred.
• Experience modernizing legacy applications or moving systems to modern architectures strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of application security and secure development practices.
• Experience in regulated, healthcare, benefits administration, financial services, or other data-sensitive environments is a plus.
• Experience supporting SOC 2 or similar compliance frameworks preferred.
• Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Comfortable working at both strategic and technical levels, with ownership, accountability, urgency, and a collaborative approach.

• Lead, mentor, and develop our software engineering team, setting clear expectations, priorities, and accountability.
• Oversee the design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance of our software applications and platforms.
• Establish and uphold development standards, coding practices, documentation expectations, and quality controls.
• Guide technical decisions and architecture for new development and modernization work.
• Assess existing applications and architecture, identifying ways to improve performance, scalability, reliability, security, and maintainability.
• Work with our executive leadership to shape the software development roadmap and prioritize technology initiatives.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts and operational teams to turn business needs into effective technical solutions.
• Manage development schedules, resource allocation, project priorities, and delivery commitments.
• Build effective development processes for code reviews, source control, testing, release management, and deployment.
• Encourage suitable use of automation, DevOps practices, CI/CD, and modern development tools.
• Embed appropriate security practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Partner with IT and security leaders on cybersecurity, data protection, business continuity, and SOC 2 compliance.
• Define and monitor engineering performance measures and report progress to executive leadership.
• Contribute to recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, performance management, and the professional growth of engineering staff.
• Assess third-party technologies, development tools, integrations, and vendors as needed.
• Lead troubleshooting of complex technical issues and production incidents.
• Maintain technical documentation for applications, architecture, integrations, and development processes.
• Support our exploration and responsible adoption of AI, automation, and emerging technologies.
• Carry out additional technology initiatives and special projects as assigned.

At Solxsys Administrative Solutions, we are seeking a Director of Software Engineering to lead our engineering team and advance the development, modernization, and scalability of our technology platform. This hands-on leadership role balances people leadership, architecture, development standards, technical strategy, and execution, working closely with executive leadership, IT, Business Analysts, Operations, and other stakeholders. We are looking for a technology leader and problem solver who can assess our current engineering organization, define its direction, and build the team and processes to support it.
