Job Description
Role Purpose
The Manager – ESG & Sustainability will lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of Molbio’s Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) framework across the organization and its subsidiaries. The role is the functional owner of the Company’s statutory sustainability disclosure – including the Business Responsibility & Sustainability Report (BRSR) and BRSR Core under the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations – and is accountable for: implementing and maintaining the Environmental & Social Management System (ESMS); building an assurance-ready ESG data and internal-controls environment; owning the greenhouse gas inventory and decarbonisation roadmap; managing the ESG material topics; and embedding sustainable and responsible business practices into day-to-day operations.
The role is also the Company’s principal interface on ESG with the Board and its committees, investors, ESG rating agencies, assurance providers, lenders and regulators.
Key Responsibilities
- ESG Strategy & Implementation
- Drive the implementation and continuous improvement of the Environmental & Social Management System (ESMS).
- Coordinate ESG initiatives across manufacturing facilities, R&D centres, warehouses and corporate functions.
- Monitor progress against ESG objectives, action plans and key performance indicators.
- Statutory Disclosure, Compliance & Governance
- Ensure compliance with applicable ESG laws/ standards.
- Maintain ESG documentation, records and compliance trackers.
- Own preparation, review and filing of the BRSR and BRSR Core under the SEBI (LODR) Regulations
- Where development finance institution or lender funding is in place, maintain compliance with the applicable E&S covenants and IFC Performance Standards, and deliver periodic E&S monitoring reports.
- Environmental & Social Performance
- Coordinate and support departments for ESG-related initiatives.
- Promote ESG awareness and responsible practices across the organization through training and engagement.
- Audits, Reporting & Risk Management
- Plan and coordinate internal and external ESG compliance audits.
- Track corrective and preventive actions and ensure timely closure of audit observations.
- Prepare periodic ESG dashboards, management reports and sustainability data for internal and external stakeholders.
- Identify emerging ESG risks, monitor evolving regulations and recommend improvements to ensure continued compliance and organizational readiness.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science or Engineering, Sustainability, Chemical or Industrial Engineering, Life Sciences, Public Health, or a related discipline.
- Professional certification in ESG, Sustainability or EHS will be an advantage.
- Familiarity with the IFC Performance Standards and IFC/World Bank EHS Guidelines is an advantage
Experience
- 6–10 years of relevant experience in ESG, sustainability, EHS or environmental and social compliance.
- Experience in manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, diagnostics or life sciences will be preferred.
- Exposure to ESG reporting frameworks and management systems is desirable.
