Position Summary

Seeking an advanced bookkeeper with a teaching background and strong client-facing presence to support the day-to-day accounting operations of our small and medium-sized business clients. This role owns core bookkeeping functions - reconciliations, payroll support, accounts payable/receivable, financial reporting, and month-end close - for a portfolio of clients, while serving as a confident, camera-comfortable point of contact who can explain financial concepts clearly and directly to clients.

Required Qualifications (Primary)

Advanced bookkeeper: Proven, independent bookkeeping expertise - not junior or entry-level - able to own a client's books end-to-end across a portfolio of accounts.

Client-facing teaching ability: Experience teaching or explaining finance/accounting concepts directly to clients, not just internally to a team.

Teaching background first, finance/accounting second: A degree or credential in education/teaching, with finance or accounting as the secondary field of study.

Speaking and presentation skills: Comfortable presenting financial data and reports clearly to a non-technical audience.

Educational background in accounting: Formal accounting education or coursework underpinning the technical bookkeeping work.

Client-facing comfort: Fully comfortable on video calls and camera-facing client interactions as a regular, expected part of the role - not an occasional exception.

Serve as a client-facing point of contact, presenting financial results and answering questions directly on calls or video meetings.

Manage daily bookkeeping operations for a portfolio of small and medium-sized business clients.

Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies.

Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoicing, bill pay, and collections follow-up.

Oversee month-end close for assigned clients, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.

Maintain accurate, audit-ready records across QuickBooks Online and other client accounting systems.

Flag discrepancies, unusual transactions, or process gaps to management proactively.

Communicate directly with U.S.-based team members and clients in English.

Preferred Qualifications (Secondary)

CPA certification.

Proficiency with QuickBooks Online; ability to learn new accounting platforms quickly.

Prior experience working remotely for a U.S.-based company.

Experience supporting multiple clients simultaneously in an outsourced or multi-client accounting environment.

Familiarity with U.S. GAAP as applied to small-business financial reporting.

Work Environment

This is a fully remote position. Standard working hours overlap with U.S. business hours to support daily collaboration with the team and regular client calls.
