Tuesday morning: a negligent security claim lands, the property manager is anxious, and the adjuster wants your plan by Friday. By Friday you've seen the scene, pulled the incident reports, spoken to the security vendor and drafted an evaluation with a recommendation you'd stand behind.
That's general liability defense done properly, and it's the job I'm hiring for in Miami.

The bigger pictureThat salary range is wide for a reason. The firm wants to hire well across levels, so a mid level associate and an attorney at counsel level can both find their place in it. Senior people take on the heavier exposure files, lead trials, supervise others and build their own client relationships, with a quicker route toward partnership.
General liability is also one of the best trainings in insurance defense. You see a wider range of facts, clients and experts than in almost any other practice, and that breadth makes you a more confident trial lawyer. One month it's a hotel pool, the next it's a defective ladder, the month after that a shopping center parking lot at midnight.
