TRAILER INSPECTOR

Tanker InspectorPosition Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and safety-driven Tanker Inspector to ensure tankers, cargo tanks, and related equipment meet all regulatory, safety, and structural integrity standards. This role plays a critical part in preventing failures, maintaining compliance, and protecting both personnel and the environment. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, inspection experience, and a deep understanding of safety regulations and documentation.Key Responsibilities:Perform visual and mechanical inspections of tanker units, cargo tanks, or storage tanksInspect welds, valves, piping, structural components, and safety systemsConduct or assist with pressure testing, leak testing, and thickness testingVerify compliance with DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, and industry standardsIdentify defects, corrosion, cracks, or structural concernsDocument findings in detailed inspection reportsRecommend repairs, maintenance, or removal from service when necessaryWork closely with maintenance teams and management on corrective actionsMaintain inspection tools, gauges, and testing equipmentFollow all company and site-specific safety protocolsQualifications:Experience in mechanical inspection, heavy equipment, tankers, or industrial equipmentStrong knowledge of safety and compliance standardsAbility to read technical drawings and inspection criteriaComfortable working in shop and outdoor environmentsStrong attention to detail and documentation skillsBasic computer skills for reportingPreferred Certifications (not always required but HUGE plus):CTMV (Certified Cargo Tank Inspector)API 510, 653, or 570NDT experience (UT, MT, PT, VT)Welding inspection background (CWI)DOT cargo tank inspection experience
