Job Description
6+ years experience in DB migration
Assess on-prem MS SQL Server environments (schemas, dependencies, workloads)
Design migration approach:
Rehost (lift & shift)
Replatform (RDS Postgre SQL)
Modernize (Aurora Postgre SQL)
Define cutover strategies (online vs offline migration)
Identify risks related to network latency, data volume, and downtime
Use AWS services: AWS Database Migration Service (DMS) – data replication AWS Schema Conversion Tool (SCT) – schema + code conversion
Perform: Schema migration (tables, indexes, constraints) Data migration (full load + CDC – Change Data Capture) Handle large datasets (TB-scale migrations) efficiently
