Job Description

Tri-City is seeking to hire a Registered Nurse Supervisor to support the FACT Transitional Age Youth (TAY) program and the ACT Adult Full Service Partnership program.

The Registered Nurse Supervisor provides clinical leadership, oversight, and direction for nursing services across both programs. This position supervises nursing and assigned support staff, coordinates daily nursing operations, and works closely with the Medical Director and interdisciplinary teams to promote safe, consistent, and client-centered care. The supervisor also ensures nursing practices comply with clinical protocols, professional standards, and applicable state and federal requirements.

The ideal candidate is an experienced Registered Nurse with a strong background in psychiatric nursing, behavioral health, or community-based care. They are a supportive and effective leader who can supervise and develop nursing staff, coordinate daily operations, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. The successful candidate will demonstrate sound clinical judgment, strong organizational skills, and the ability to remain calm and provide direction during complex or crisis situations.

KEY DUTIES

  • Provide clinical leadership and oversight for nursing services across assigned programs.
  • Supervise Registered Nurses and assigned support staff, including Medical Assistants and administrative personnel.
  • Coordinate daily nursing operations, staffing assignments, workflows, and coverage.
  • Participate in nursing assessments, medication administration, and crisis response as needed.
  • Lead onboarding, training, and competency development for nursing staff.
  • Oversee medication administration, storage, documentation, and monitoring practices.
  • Conduct chart audits and lead nursing quality-improvement efforts.
  • Develop and implement nursing policies and procedures in collaboration with medical and program leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with the California Nurse Practice Act, infection-control protocols, behavioral health regulations, and organizational standards.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, therapists, case managers, and other team members to support coordinated client care.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, case reviews, and care-coordination activities.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, & EXPERIENCE

Education, Experience, and Licensure Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited program.
  • At least five years of professional nursing experience in a clinical setting.
  • At least one year of supervisory or lead experience that included coaching, mentoring, or directing nursing or clinical support staff.
  • Experience in psychiatric nursing, behavioral health, community health, or a related clinical setting is preferred.
  • Additional education or training in psychiatric or mental health nursing, community health, or nursing leadership is preferred.
  • Current and active California Registered Nurse license.
  • Current and valid Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or an equivalent recognized provider.
  • Ability to maintain all required licenses and certifications in active and good-standing status.
  • Ability to travel independently within Tri-City and surrounding service areas when assigned to field-based services.
