Role Description The Assistant Fashion Designer role at Aggunj is a full-time, on-site position based in Noida, UP. The role involves supporting the lead designer in developing collections, from concept and mood boards to final samples, with a focus on drapes, surface texturing, and refined detailing. Day-to-day tasks include assisting with sketching and technical drawings, selecting and sourcing fabrics and trims, embroidery and textile treatments, and participating in fittings to ensure optimal silhouettes and construction. The Assistant Fashion Designer will collaborate closely with production, merchandising, and store teams to maintain design consistency, quality standards, and timely deliveries. The role also includes preparing specification sheets, maintaining design archives, and contributing creative ideas that align with Aggunj’s brand identity.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong skills in Fashion Design and Fashion, including concept development, sketching, and understanding of silhouettes and trends.
  • Candidates should possess skills in Embroidery and Textiles, with knowledge of surface ornamentation, fabric properties, and textile techniques.
  • Candidates should possess skills in Fitting, with the ability to evaluate garment drape, structure, and comfort, and work with pattern makers and tailors to refine samples.
  • Relevant qualifications such as a diploma or degree in Fashion Design or a related field from a recognized institute are beneficial.
  • Additional beneficial skills include proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop), strong attention to detail, time management, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced studio environment.
  • An understanding of luxury fashion, artisanal craftsmanship, and contemporary Indian fashion markets will be an advantage.
