Instrumentation and Control Specialist

Position OverviewOur customer is seeking an Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Specialist to support the operation, maintenance, and reliability of equipment within a combined-cycle power generation facility. This individual will be responsible for troubleshooting, calibrating, repairing, and maintaining instrumentation and control systems that are critical to safe and efficient plant operations.This role offers a long-term career path within power generation. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical maintenance background and a genuine interest in growing into plant operations over time.

Required Qualifications3-5+ years of hands-on industrial maintenance, instrumentation, controls, or related trade experienceExperience troubleshooting and maintaining:PLCs (Allen Bradley preferred)Instrumentation and control systemsTransmittersCalibration and recalibration of field devicesExperience working in an operations and maintenance environmentStrong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skillsHigh School Diploma or GED
Preferred QualificationsPower generation, utility, petrochemical, manufacturing, or other large industrial facility experienceTechnical degree, military technical training, or trade apprenticeshipExperience supporting plant operations, startups, shutdowns, and maintenance activities
Key ResponsibilitiesTroubleshoot, maintain, repair, and calibrate instrumentation and control equipmentSupport PLC-based control systems and related plant automation equipmentPerform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activitiesAssist with equipment startups, shutdowns, and operational troubleshootingComplete work orders, maintenance documentation, and operational logsFollow all safety, environmental, and lockout/tagout proceduresSupport emergency response activities xzbcwsv when requiredPartner with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to ensure safe and reliable plant performanceParticipate in ongoing training and continuous improvement initiatives
Work EnvironmentIndustrial power generation facilityRotating 12-hour shift schedule with overtime as neededIndoor and outdoor work in varying environmental conditionsAbility to climb ladders and stairs, work at heights, and enter confined spacesAbility to lift up to 50 pounds and wear required PPE and respiratory protection equipmentMust be able to participate in plant emergency response activities
