ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are looking for an Engineering Manager to build and lead our Agentic AI team. You will bring AI agents and LLM-powered experiences into how Splash serves borrowers and runs the business.This is a chance to shape how modern Fintech uses AI. You will work closely with engineering leadership on the vision, build the team that delivers it, and get AI into production with the right guardrails for financial services.You will work closely with leaders across Product, Operations, Data, Compliance, and Security, and have real influence on our technical direction.
WHAT YOU’LL DO AT SPLASH:Turn Splash's AI vision into an execution roadmap, prioritizing AI enablement and internal tools that make teams across Splash faster and more effective.Hire, lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing team of engineers, grow strong technical leaders who drive design and delivery day to day, and build a culture of ownership, curiosity, and high standards.Partner with Product, Operations, Data, Compliance, Legal, and Security leaders to find where AI agents and LLMs create the most value for borrowers, partners, and internal teams, and deliver it responsibly: protecting customer data and keeping humans in the loop where it matters.Take AI use cases from idea to production and measure their impact: wider AI adoption across engineering, faster delivery and higher throughput, less manual work for Operations, and a lower cost per use case. Share results with engineering and executive leadership.Build reusable foundations that let teams across Splash adopt AI quickly and safely, with clear practices for evaluating quality, safety, and cost.Set the bar for reliability, code quality, and operational excellence for the AI systems the team ships, with engineering processes that scale.Drive AI adoption across the company: run enablement, share what works, and help other teams build with AI.Stay ahead of the fast-moving AI landscape and make build, buy, and partner decisions on AI models and vendors.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO SPLASH:Required8+ years of industry experience, including time as a senior or staff-level engineer before moving into management.2+ years of engineering management experience, with a history of building and scaling high-performing teams.Practical experience shipping LLM-powered products to real users, including prompt engineering, retrieval augmented generation, agent orchestration, tool use, and evaluation systems for open-ended tasks.Strong background in backend and distributed systems, and experience building internal tools or developer platforms.Ability to be your own technical PM: find the right problems to solve through customer and stakeholder research, rapid prototyping, and testing.Ability to balance exploring new possibilities with judging what is feasible, which is critical for driving 0 to 1 projects.Clear communicator who can explain technical and AI tradeoffs to engineers and business leaders.Have built something with AI in the last six months and can walk us through how you built it and what you learned.
PreferredComfortable working in privacy and PII-sensitive environments and applying compliance controls.Experience in fintech, lending, payments, or another regulated industry.Experience setting up responsible AI practices or AI governance.

COMPENSATION:The base salary range for this role is $200,000 to $240,000 annually, based on market data and internal compensation practices. This role may also be eligible for a bonus component tied to individual and company performance. Final compensation will be determined by factors such as location, experience, and skill level.
