Job Description – Production Manager – Kitchen Cabinetry Job Title Production Manager – Kitchen Cabinetry Location Bangalore, India Department Kitchen Cabinetry Division Reports To KCD Head / Business Head Job Summary We are looking for an experienced Production Manager – Kitchen Cabinetry to lead end-to-end production operations for the Kitchen Cabinetry Division. The role will be responsible for driving production output, quality, efficiency, productivity, safety, and on-time delivery while maintaining high standards of craftsmanship and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in modular kitchens, furniture manufacturing, precision woodworking, panel processing, CNC operations, edge banding, finishing, and hardware assembly , along with proven experience managing large shop-floor teams. The Production Manager will be the key point of accountability for shop-floor performance, people management, production KPIs, and continuous improvement initiatives . Key Responsibilities Take strategic decisions to achieve monthly and quarterly production targets for kitchen cabinetry and modular solutions. Own daily, weekly, and monthly production output for the division. Conduct weekly Throughput Analysis meetings to identify bottlenecks and drive corrective actions. Lead daily meetings for OEE implementation and monitor OEE performance on the shop floor. Review and update the OEE Action Plan weekly to improve availability, performance, and quality. Maintain clear visibility of daily OEE status through shop-floor display boards. Monitor daily shift handover details and submit consolidated weekly handover reports to management. Prepare and submit monthly WIP (Work in Progress) reports. Review daily QC reports and ensure timely corrective and preventive actions for defects. Monitor preventive maintenance schedules to minimize machine downtime. Drive 5S and housekeeping standards across the production floor. Lead Poka-Yoke / Mistake Proofing initiatives to reduce rework and improve first-pass yield. Coordinate with Stores and Purchase teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials, hardware, fittings, and consumables. Review and approve quotations for machine spares, new machinery, and production consumables. Validate daily overtime requirements and submit weekly/monthly overtime reports. Lead recruitment and selection of direct production workforce and conduct interviews for production staff. Conduct monthly employee meetings to understand shop-floor challenges and improve employee engagement. Address disciplinary matters appropriately to maintain safety, productivity, and workplace discipline. Lead weekly cross-functional meetings involving Production, Maintenance, QC, Stores, and Purchase . Support ERP implementation for production operations, ensuring accurate data entry and effective user adoption. Coordinate with department heads on capacity planning, new product development (NPD), and delivery commitments . Ensure clear and visual communication of production KPIs, targets, quality standards, and safety requirements across the shop floor. Candidate Requirements Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering , or a related field. 8–15 years of overall experience in furniture manufacturing, modular kitchens, cabinetry, or precision woodworking. Minimum 3 years of experience in a managerial / production leadership role . Strong hands-on experience with: Panel processing CNC machinery Edge banding Membrane / PU finishing Hardware assembly Modular kitchen / cabinetry production Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Theory of Constraints (TOC), OEE, and continuous improvement methodologies . Experience working with ERP systems , preferably in production/manufacturing modules. Proven experience managing 100 shop-floor employees . Strong experience in production planning, manpower planning, capacity management, quality, and delivery. Ability to manage and coordinate multiple cross-functional stakeholders. The candidate should be comfortable managing a large production workforce, monitoring shop-floor KPIs, improving OEE and throughput, resolving production bottlenecks, and working closely with Quality, Maintenance, Purchase, Stores, and other functions.
