Employment Type: Direct Hire

Salary: $140,000–$150,000

Position Overview

Seeking an experienced Senior Director of Operations to oversee daily campus operations for an established independent school. This role leads facilities, security, maintenance, capital projects, auxiliary services, budgeting, and sustainability initiatives to ensure a safe and efficient campus environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee campus safety, security, emergency preparedness, and regulatory compliance.
• Manage capital projects, renovations, facilities maintenance, and long-term campus planning.
• Oversee custodial services, groundskeeping, transportation, and facility rentals.
• Develop and manage operating budgets, vendor contracts, and capital improvement plans.
• Lead sustainability and energy-efficiency initiatives.
• Supervise and develop operations staff and department leaders.
• Partner with senior leadership on strategic planning and campus improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 7–9 years of progressive facilities or operations leadership experience, ideally in education or a campus setting.
• Experience managing capital projects, security, budgets, and vendors.
• Strong leadership, communication, financial management, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of building systems, construction practices, and applicable New Jersey codes.
• CFM, FMP, LEED AP, or OSHA 30 credentials needed.
• Availability for occasional after-hours, weekend, and emergency needs.
