A leading $5bn general contractor is seeking an experienced General Superintendent to oversee field operations on a major, $3.7bn institutional construction project in New York City.
The General Superintendent will lead day-to-day site operations, managing subcontractors, field personnel, safety, quality control and scheduling to ensure construction is delivered efficiently and in line with project specifications and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:Oversee daily construction activities, subcontractors and field teams.Coordinate site logistics, schedules and workforce planning.Maintain strict safety standards and ensure OSHA compliance.Monitor quality, drawings, specifications and installation standards.Manage progress reporting, inspections and corrective actions.Coordinate with project management, inspectors and key stakeholders.Ensure compliance with security protocols and applicable building codes.
Requirements:20+ years of experience in construction superintendent roles.Strong background in large-scale commercial or institutional construction.Knowledge of structural, architectural, mechanical and electrical systems.Experience managing complex construction projects, subcontractors and site operations.Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications and schedules.Strong leadership, communication and safety management skills.Familiarity with construction software such as Procore, PlanGrid or Bluebeam. xzbcwsv High school diploma or equivalent.
