Job Description
Tax Director | Personal Tax Advisory | Cleveland, OH
The experience expected from applicants, as well as additional skills and qualifications needed for this job are listed below.
I suspect if you've been in public accounting for 10+ years, you've become quite good at spotting the difference between an interesting opportunity and a firm that's just looking to replace someone.
And let's face it, there are plenty of the latter.
This position caught my attention for a slightly different reason.
I'm working with a mid sized CPA firm in Cleveland that's recently received investment and is planning to grow through acquisitions as well as organically.
They're also heavily investing in technology, infrastructure, and people.
But what makes this interesting is the opportunity to join while things are actually changing.
They're looking for a Tax Director who can bring experience, ideas, and leadership to the table, rather than someone who's simply there to manage a portfolio and keep everyone busy.
You'll be working with high net worth individuals and business owners, advising on complex individual, fiduciary, and gift tax matters, while also helping develop the management team.
So there's plenty of interesting technical work, but also the opportunity to influence how the practice develops as the firm grows.
You'll need to be a CPA or EA with 10+ years of experience. International individual tax experience would be useful, although it's not essential.
Whether you are looking for more influence or to help shape a growing practice. Or perhaps you've simply reached the point where you'd like to be involved in some of the bigger decisionsrather than hearing about them afterwards.
Whatever it is, I think this one is worth a conversation.
And if we have a chat and you decide your current firm is still the better option, that's absolutely fine. At least you'll know what's out there.
Here is the truth about applications.
Many people treat them like a checklist, where missing 1 item means instant rejection.
That is not how this works.
If this role interests you, apply. The apply button is not a commitment, it is the start of aconversation.
Prefer a chat? Call me at 412 991 2084.
I start at 6am EST, so mornings work. After 5pm EST is fine too, though I may be slightly less lively.
Think you meet most but not all of the requirements? Apply anyway. The firms we work with want capable, interesting people, not cookie cutter accountants.
Do not overthink it. The worst outcome is a friendly conversation about your career. xzbcwsv The best outcome is where it gets exciting.
