Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Critical Care Physician role based at AMARA HOSPITAL in Tirupati. The Critical Care Physician will provide comprehensive care to critically ill patients in the ICU, including assessment, diagnosis, stabilization, and ongoing management. Daily responsibilities include performing rounds, reviewing clinical data, ordering and interpreting investigations, and coordinating multidisciplinary care with nursing, respiratory therapy, and other specialty teams. The role involves performing or supervising procedures related to critical care, participating in emergency response situations, and ensuring adherence to clinical protocols and patient safety standards. The physician will also contribute to care planning with families, support clinical teaching for staff and trainees, and participate in quality improvement and clinical governance activities.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in internal Medicine and Critical Care Medicine, with demonstrated experience managing critically ill adult patients.
Relevant exposure or competence in Pulmonology, especially in managing respiratory failure, ventilator support, and related ICU conditions.
Familiarity with Anesthesiology principles and procedures related to airway management, sedation, and pain control in critical care settings.
Ability to collaborate effectively with Critical Care Nursing teams to ensure coordinated, patient-centered ICU care.
Recognized medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) and completed residency/postgraduate training in Internal Medicine, Anesthesiology, Pulmonology, or equivalent, with formal critical care training or fellowship preferred.
Valid medical license and necessary certifications as per regional regulatory requirements; ACLS/BLS certification strongly preferred.
Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to compassionate, ethical, and transparent care.
Ability to work in a high-acuity, team-based environment with rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and on-call duties.
Interest in teaching, mentoring, and participating in clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives.
