Electrical Lead Engineer Defence & Advanced Engineering Permanent, Full Time Portsmouth £55,000 - £65,000 Are you an experienced Electrical Engineer looking to take the next step into a technical leadership role? Were working with a specialist engineering organisation operating within the defence and advanced engineering sector, supporting the development of highly technical products and systems. Theyre looking for an Electrical Lead Engineer to join their engineering team and provide technical leadership across a team of engineers and technicians. The Opportunity Youll lead a team ofengineers and technicians, providing technical direction, mentoring and support while remaining involved in the design and development of new products. Youll work closely with other engineering disciplines, project teams, customers and suppliers to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality standards. This is a great opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys combining technical delivery, problem solving and people leadership. Key Responsibilities Provide technical leadership and direction Mentor and develop engineers and technicians Support design and development activities Manage workloads and technical requirements Work with multidisciplinary engineering teams Liaise with customers and suppliers Support testing and product qualification Ensure engineering processes and quality standards are followed Drive continuous improvement Resolve complex technical challenges What We're Looking For Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline 5 years' engineering experience Strong technical and problem-solving skills Strong understanding of engineering principles and processes Experience mentoring or guiding engineers Excellent communication skills Experience working with customers and suppliers Strong 3D modelling and simulation skills Knowledge of relevant engineering standards Good time-management skills Flexible approach and willingness to learn new engineering techniques Desirable Autodesk Inventor AutoCAD Electrical Altium Previous engineering leadership experience Environmental, shock and vibration testing Systems engineering and the engineering V-model Defence and/or aerospace experience ISO9001 / AS9100 Security Requirements Applicants must be: British Citizen SC Cleared orable to obtain security clearance Please be aware that security and export-control restrictions may apply.
