POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Crime Victim Services Program Director (CVSP), based at the Bronx Family Justice Center, provides overall leadership and oversight of non-residential case management and advocacy services, including program administration, fiscal management, and staff supervision. The position is part of URI’s Justice Initiatives non-residential department.

The NYC Family Justice Centers, operated by the NYC Mayor’s Office to End Domestic and Gender-Based Violence, are multidisciplinary, one-stop service centers that bring together government agencies, legal service providers, community-based organizations, and other partners to provide coordinated, survivor-centered services to individuals experiencing domestic and gender-based violence.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide strategic direction for learning and development across crisis intervention, advocacy, and case management services
• Supervise Program Manager and provide clinical triage support to the entire team for high-risk cases.
• Oversee supervision of the case managers, intensive case managers, and the economic empowerment/housing specialist.
• Develop strong relationships and liaise regularly with onsite partners to ensure strong collaboration amongst FJC partners with client consent.
• Ensure adequate team coverage and effectively manage staff schedules, including holidays.
• Monitor budget performance and track progress on budget to actuals .
• Promote compliance with all relevant city regulations as well as agency and program policies, and compliance in meeting performance measures based on organizational targets.
• Ensure accurate and timely data collection and report submissions.
• Oversee team progress and review case notes for quality and completeness.
• Regularly participate in external and internal partner meetings.
• Engage in city-wide crime victim coalitions.
• Develop and achieve annual department goals in alignment with the theory of change. and logic models as well as funder deliverables and in support of the mission and agency-wide strategic plan.
• Work closely with the Senior Director of Economic Justice to create innovative program development that is aligned with survivor-led, equity-based solutions specifically for underserved communities.
• Carry a small caseload of high-risk cases with complex system involvement as needed.
• Lead weekly case conferencing and ensure quick responses to survivors who are enrolled in the program.
• Provide inclusive leadership and management to the team and provide comprehensive oversight of the program’s operations.
• Cultivate leadership and professional development for staff, including facilitating growth opportunities.
• Collaborate closely with other Justice Initiative program leaders and staff along with other divisions within URI.
• Participate in new hire recruitment process, especially with post-hire onboarding, training, and case shadowing.
• Adhere to confidentiality practices and protocols.
• Knowledge in general case management services, crisis intervention and safety planning.
• Participate in fund development activities for the program and collaborate actively with URI’s Development, Marketing and Communications, as well as Government Affairs Departments.
• Assist with the development and implementation of consistent standards, policies and practices regarding participant services and other agency protocols.
• Other duties as requested that enhance the mission of URI and CVSP.

SPECIFICATIONS FOR EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:

• Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field with 2-3 years of relevant experience working with DV & GBV survivors.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• At least 2-4 years of supervisory and program management experience.
• Strong knowledge and experience of Trauma-informed practice.
• Knowledge of Family Justice Centers is a plus.
• Demonstrated experience in reflective supervision.
• Ability to thrive in a high-volume, high trauma work environment.
• Strong commitment to equity and social justice, including a focus on self-awareness and engagement of continuous learning around issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion; high level of Emotional Intelligence (EQ).
• Experience cultivating and maintaining community partnerships.
• Demonstrated sensitivity and experience with and/or knowledge of domestic violence within and against disenfranchised communities, including individuals who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and/or HIV-affected, the elderly, and individuals with mental health issues.
• Must possess a demonstrated ability in delivering participant services, including communication and listening skills, understanding of human interaction and personality development, writing and recording case documentation, and skills in group counseling.
• Strong organizational skills that reflect an ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly.
• Exceptional interpersonal, critical thinking, communication, and writing skills, and the ability to develop positive and productive relationships.
• Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) .
• Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion, be adaptable to various competing demands, and demonstrate the highest level of customer/client service and response.
• Must have the ability to be flexible with work schedule due to program needs.
• Acknowledge and application of self-care and work-life balance for self and others.

SPECIFICATIONS FOR PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Work schedule includes four days working in the office and one day working from home with the remote day serving as the on-call day.
• Flexibility is required to meet on-site demands throughout the week .

• Will be required to read printed and handwritten materials.
• Will be required to manipulate the computer mouse and keyboard.
• Will be required to read information on computer screen.
• Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to enter information in digital forms and spreadsheets.

SALARY: $81,000/yr-85,000/yr
