Assistant Category Manager E-Commerce

We are looking for a commercially driven Assistant Category Manager to support the growth and management of the Consumer Electronics category across e-commerce and omnichannel channels.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor competitor activities, market trends, and customer demand to identify category gaps and growth opportunities.
• Manage product assortment and product mix, balancing high-demand products with emerging consumer electronics trends.
• Develop exit plans for discontinued, outdated, and underperforming products.
• Coordinate with suppliers and operations teams to maintain healthy inventory levels and minimize stockouts and excess inventory.
• Negotiate product pricing, trade terms, rebates, exclusive launches, and cooperative marketing support with manufacturers and distributors.
• Build strong vendor relationships to improve product availability, delivery timelines, product quality, and commercial performance.
• Coordinate with suppliers and operations teams to determine suitable fulfilment models and ensure a seamless customer experience.
• Ensure consistent product listings, pricing, and merchandising across digital marketplaces and physical retail channels.
• Collaborate with Digital Marketing and UI/UX teams to improve product visibility, SEO, digital shelf placement, and promotional campaigns.
• Analyze category sales, inventory, pricing, and profitability data to identify improvement opportunities.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, or a related technical field.
• 3+ years of relevant experience in category management, buying, commercial strategy, or product merchandising.
• Experience in Consumer Electronics and e-commerce/omnichannel retail will be preferred.
• Strong understanding of product assortment, inventory planning, pricing, and vendor negotiations.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and familiarity with e-commerce platforms and sales reporting tools.
