Our client is an established Engineering & Industrial Technology Solutions organization supporting customers across industrial automation, smart manufacturing, engineering, and digital transformation.

We are looking for an experienced Lead System Engineer to take ownership of the design, development, implementation, commissioning, and support of industrial automation and control systems.

This role is ideal for an automation professional who combines strong PLC/SCADA expertise with system integration, technical problem-solving, customer engagement, and project execution capabilities.

Key ResponsibilitiesAutomation Engineering & System Development

• Analyze customer requirements and translate them into robust automation solutions.
• Design, develop, implement, and maintain PLC/SCADA applications in accordance with approved design specifications.
• Develop and deploy PLC programs using appropriate automation platforms and programming standards.
• Configure and integrate SCADA applications, industrial networks, PLCs, and related control systems.
• Ensure automation solutions meet required performance, safety, reliability, and functionality standards.

Project Implementation & Commissioning

• Lead automation system installation, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting at customer sites.
• Diagnose and resolve PLC, SCADA, communication, and system integration issues.
• Validate system performance against project requirements and test plans.
• Support site acceptance testing and resolution of technical issues during commissioning.
• Travel to customer locations globally based on project requirements.

Technical Leadership & Architecture

• Contribute to defining system architecture, technical specifications, software compatibility, security requirements, and integration parameters.
• Evaluate technical requirements and recommend appropriate automation and software solutions.
• Work with engineering and project teams to ensure technical designs are practical, scalable, and maintainable.
• Create and maintain design documents, test plans, test cases, technical documentation, and application manuals.
• Research, document, validate, and resolve reported technical issues.

Client & Stakeholder Management

• Engage directly with customers to understand technical requirements and provide solutions.
• Provide technical support throughout implementation and post-deployment.
• Communicate technical concepts clearly to customers, project teams, and internal stakeholders.
• Support development of user training materials and technical documentation.

⚙️ Technical ExpertisePLC Programming

Strong hands-on experience with:

• Siemens TIA Portal V1X
• Siemens STEP 7 V5.X
• Rockwell Studio 5000
• RSLogix 500 / 5000
• Experience with other major PLC platforms will be an advantage.

PLC Programming Languages

• Ladder Logic
• FBD
• SCL / STL

SCADA

Hands-on experience with:

• Siemens TIA Portal / WinCC
• WinCC Classic V7.X
• Rockwell FactoryTalk View
• Ignition SCADA

SCADA Scripting

• VBScript
• C Scripting

Industrial Communication

Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols and their deployment, including:

• EtherNet/IP
• PROFINET
• PROFIBUS
• Modbus

System Integration

• Hands-on experience integrating automation systems with OPC server platforms such as:
• Kepware
• Siemens OPC
• Understanding of PLC–SCADA–OPC integration architectures.

Education & Experience

• B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Automation, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 5–7 years of relevant experience in Industrial Automation.
• Strong hands-on experience in PLC/SCADA development, system integration, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
• Experience working directly with customers and managing technical requirements.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of technical deliverables.
