Sundial is an invite-only alternative investments manager. Our Member Families gain access to curated, private deal flow sourced from Sundial’s portfolio companies—including Sundial Holdings (private equity), Sundial Investments (hedge funds), Sundial Real Estate Partners , and more. 

This role sits within Sundial Holdings , the private equity arm of Sundial. We acquire controlling interests in economically resilient, decades-old B2B companies, build them to last forever, and distribute excess cash flow along the way.

Summary of Position

The Director of Portfolio Operations is a high-impact leadership role responsible for scaling the companies within Sundial Holdings’ portfolio. You will work side-by-side with the CEOs of each business to drive profitable growth, operational excellence, and long-term defensibility . In short: You will turn good companies into exceptional ones.

What You'll Do

Below are some of the key responsibilities of the position. 

• Partner with CEOs of portfolio companies to grow sales, optimize contribution margins, and control costs in efforts to maximize free cash flow.
• Professionalize and modernize acquired firms through systems, technology, and operational best practices.
• Build competitive moats via diversification, process improvement, and market positioning.
• Lead quarterly portfolio updates to Member Families, showcasing results and strategic initiatives.
• Implement the Sundial Operating System (SOS) across portfolio companies.
• Evaluate bolt-on acquisition opportunities and partner with our M&A team during due diligence.
• Host weekly cadence calls and make regular on-site visits to portfolio companies.
• Drive technology modernization initiatives.
• Serve on Sundial’s Investment Committee .

• Portfolio Company Free Cash Flow Growth: 10%+ annually

• Multiple Expansion of Portfolio Companies: Internal Scoring System

Compensation Benefits

Below is the general structure of our compensation package. 

• Base Salary: $100,000 - $150,000
• Bonus: Up to 25% of base
• Profit Sharing: Participate in Sundial’s profit-sharing program
• Health Care coverage
• Unique Perk: Ability to invest in Sundial deals with no management fees

Reports directly to the CEO of Sundial Holdings .
