CDL A Local Truck Driver - Perryville, MD - Home DailyOur client is hiring CDL-A drivers for a dedicated local grocery account running out of Perryville, Maryland. Freight on this fleet is grocery, driver load and unload with pallet jacks, running Pennsylvania, New York (Staten Island) and New Jersey, returning to the distribution center. This is a home-daily position, so you sleep in your own bed every night.Key ResponsibilitiesYou will operate a Class A tractor-trailer safely and legally at all times, completing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, monitoring your hours of service, and keeping your logs accurate and current in accordance with federal regulations and company policyYou will transport freight on schedule across Pennsylvania, New York (Staten Island) and New Jersey, returning to the distribution center, following assigned routes, planning fuel and rest stops sensibly, and communicating proactively with your fleet manager when weather, traffic, or a customer delay puts a delivery window at riskDrivers average 1,800 miles per week across 10 to 20 stops — strong, consistent paychecks for a home-daily roleDrivers load and unload trailers using pallet jacksThis is physical work and drivers must be able to pull 75 lbsFreight handling is part of this role rather than an occasional extraYou will work the freight as described above, so a reasonable level of physical fitness and a willingness to stay active through the shift are genuine requirements, not preferencesYou will represent our client professionally at every customer location, maintain the condition and cleanliness of your assigned equipment, and report mechanical issues promptly so they are addressed before they become a breakdownRequirementsA valid Class A Commercial Driver's License is required, along with a minimum of 3 months of verifiable CDL-A driving experienceYou must meet all Department of Transportation qualification requirements and hold a current DOT medical certificationAn acceptable motor vehicle record and safety history are requiredYou must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and comply with all federal testing requirements throughout your employmentThe role requires the physical capability to perform the freight handling described above, including repeated lifting, climbing in and out of the trailer, and sustained activity across a full shiftHiring within 45 miles of Perryville, MDTrucks cannot be taken home, so reliable transportation is requiredPreferred QualificationsPrior dedicated account experience is preferred, particularly on fleets with consistent, repeating routes where familiarity with the lane and the customer builds real efficiencyA clean safety record, consistent on-time performance, and a track record of steady tenure with previous carriers all strengthen an applicationDrivers who communicate well with dispatch, handle customer contact professionally, and take care of their equipment tend to do well on dedicated accounts like this oneScreening QuestionsHow many years of experience do you have relevant to this CDL A Local Truck Driver - Perryville, MD - Home Daily - $1,792/Wk role?Do you hold any required licenses or certifications for this position?Are you available to work onsite in Perryville, Maryland?
