Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Chartered Accountant specializing in bookkeeping, payroll, and Australian tax. The role involves maintaining accurate financial records, processing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and preparing regular financial reports. The Chartered Accountant will manage payroll functions, including payroll calculations, payroll tax compliance, and superannuation reporting. Day-to-day responsibilities also include preparing and reviewing Australian tax returns, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, and responding to client queries about tax and payroll issues. The role requires proactive communication with clients and internal stakeholders, continuous updating of knowledge on Australian tax and payroll regulations, and contributing to process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications
Strong accounting skills, including Accounting and Journal Entries (Accounting), with experience in maintaining accurate ledgers and reconciliations.
Proficiency in Tax and Tax Preparation, specifically in Australian tax compliance and preparation of returns for individuals and businesses.
Expertise in Payroll Taxes and related payroll processes, including superannuation and statutory reporting.
Chartered Accountant qualification (or equivalent professional certification) and relevant tertiary degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience with accounting and payroll software, strong Excel skills, and familiarity with Australian financial regulations.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and time-management abilities, with high attention to detail and accuracy.
Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial and tax concepts to clients in understandable terms.
Proven ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage multiple deadlines, and maintain confidentiality and professional ethics.
