About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on Head of Finance & Accounts to independently manage the complete finance and accounts function for a high-volume, multi-branch, cash-intensive business.

The role will cover accounting, financial reporting, taxation, statutory compliance, treasury, cash & inventory controls, MIS and budgeting . The candidate will work closely with senior management and will be responsible for maintaining financial accuracy, strong controls and timely compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Financial Reporting

• Own end-to-end accounting, including general ledger, branch accounting and consolidation
• Manage monthly, quarterly and annual closing
• Prepare financial statements, MIS and management reports
• Maintain reconciliations, provisions, accruals, prepaids and fixed asset records
• Ensure books are accurate, current and audit-ready

Taxation & Statutory Compliance

• Own GST compliance, reconciliation and returns
• Manage TDS, advance tax, income tax returns and tax audits
• Handle tax assessments, notices and departmental queries
• Manage ROC and Companies Act-related compliance
• Coordinate with statutory, tax and internal auditors

Branch, Cash & Inventory Controls

• Manage daily financial reconciliation across multiple branches
• Monitor cash collections, payouts and branch-level transactions
• Oversee accounting of high-value inventory throughout the purchase, movement and realisation cycle
• Ensure adherence to financial SOPs, approval processes and cash limits
• Conduct/coordinate branch audits and physical stock verification
• Investigate and close financial discrepancies

Treasury & Banking

• Manage daily cash flow and working capital requirements
• Handle banking relationships and payment operations
• Forecast cash requirements and ensure adequate liquidity
• Monitor credit facilities, limits and banking covenants
• Track working-capital impact of inventory/price movements

MIS, Budgeting & Business Support

• Prepare annual budgets and track actuals versus budget
• Develop branch-level profitability and cost reports
• Analyse financial variances and provide actionable insights
• Support senior management in pricing, expansion and business decisions

Team Management

• Lead and manage a small accounts team
• Ensure timely completion of accounting and compliance activities
• Maintain high standards of accuracy and accountability
• Coordinate with operations, HR, auditors, consultants and bankers

Candidate Requirements

• Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) – Mandatory
• 4–5 years of post-qualification experience
• Strong hands-on experience in accounting, taxation, statutory compliance and financial closing
• Must have independently owned a complete closing and compliance cycle
• Strong knowledge of GST, TDS, Income Tax and Companies Act compliance
• Experience in cash management, reconciliations and inventory accounting
• Experience managing a small finance/accounts team
• Strong understanding of MIS, budgeting and financial analysis
• Proficiency in Tally or equivalent ERP and Advanced Excel
• Comfortable working directly with senior management/promoters
• Strong communication skills in English and Hindi
• Willingness to travel to branches across the Delhi NCR region
