We are looking for self-motivated and safety-conscious candidates who would like to join our production team.New employees can potentially earn $63k in total compensation when working at Canam Steel Corp for a 50-hour work week. This includes the base rate, overtime and production bonuses.There are additional ways to earn including referral bonuses and mentoring incentives.JOB SUMMARY:The Yard Equipment Operatorisresponsible forsafelymoving, loading, and unloadingmaterialsusing forklifts and/or other types of equipmentin a manufacturing setting.ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS: Load, rig steel joists and/or girders on trailers as assigned.Assistwith loading and unloading material inshopas needed.Assistwith steel joist bundles and yard layout as needed.Maintain a clean and organized work area.Adhere to safety protocols.Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.Regular,reliable,punctualand consistentattendance.Must be able to work regular and/or flexible hours or shifts, overtime, weekendsasrequired.REQUIREMENTS:Excellent customer service,verbaland written communication skills.Minimum of 1 yearof experiencein amanufacturing setting, preferred.Minimum of6monthsexperienceoperatingaforklift,preferred.Ability to pass internal forklift certification.Ability to read and understand loading requisitions.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Frequent communication with others to exchange information.May be exposed to fumes or airborne particlesFrequent repetition of motions that may include the wrists,handsand/or fingers.Frequent moving aboutto accomplishtasks or moving from one worksite to another.Frequent liftingor moving objects up to50 pounds in all directions.Constantly remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.Constantly thinking and processing information.Constantlymaintainingconcentration andfocuson tasks.WORK ENVIRONMENT:Manufacturing floor withmachinery.Exposure toairborne particles, loudnoises, andextreme heat and cold.Use of personal protection equipment isrequired.DISCLAIMER:Employeemust be able to perform the essential functions of the position satisfactorily and, ifrequested, reasonable accommodations will be made to enable employees with disabilities to perform the essential functions of their job, absent undue hardship.CSCretainsthe right to change or assign other duties to this position.
